The simple path

From watch time
to reading time.

A transcript should reduce friction without erasing the source. Transcriptium is designed to make the path from a permitted public video to usable text direct and legible.

STEP 01

Paste the public URL

Start with a YouTube link and confirm you have the right to work with its transcript.

STEP 02

Review the text

Read the transcript alongside timestamps, then check important quotations against the source.

STEP 03

Use it responsibly

Copy or export the text for notes, research, accessibility, or authorized content workflows.

Useful by design

Less scrubbing.
More finding.

Video is excellent for watching. Text is better for searching, scanning, citing, and returning to a precise idea. The product is organized around that difference.

01 / READ

A clean reading view

Remove interface noise and move through the spoken ideas as a coherent document.

02 / TRACE

Timestamped context

Keep important passages connected to the moment they appeared in the original video.

03 / SEARCH

Find the exact phrase

Locate names, claims, and topics without replaying an entire recording.

04 / MOVE

Portable text

Download TXT or timestamped VTT for notes and authorized downstream workflows.

Who it is for

One source.
Several honest uses.

01

Researchers

Scan interviews and talks, then return to timestamps before quoting.

02

Students and educators

Turn permitted lectures into study notes and accessible reading material.

03

Creators and teams

Repurpose your own recordings into briefs, captions, and article drafts.

Straight answers

Frequently asked.

Clear scope matters. These answers describe what Transcriptium is being built to do—and what it deliberately will not do.

What is a YouTube transcript?

A YouTube transcript is a text version of the spoken content in a video. It may include timestamps and speaker changes when that information is available.

Can I transcribe any YouTube video?

Use Transcriptium only for public videos you own or have permission to process. It is not intended to bypass private, paid, age-restricted, or access-controlled content.

Does Transcriptium download YouTube videos?

No. Transcriptium is designed around transcript text and is not a YouTube video downloader.

Can I use the text with ChatGPT or another AI tool?

You can use text you are authorized to process, subject to the source's rights and the AI service's terms. Verify quotations and factual claims against the original video.

Which videos are supported?

The free beta retrieves existing captions from public YouTube videos. Private, paid, restricted videos and videos without captions are not supported by the link tool. For your own recordings, use the audio upload tool.
